Biography CAMACHO Manuel Avila
Manuel Avila Camacho, was born April 24, 1897 in Techitlane. In 1914 he joined the army of Venustiano Carranza and quickly began to rise in rank. A good organizer and leader, he was appointed Minister of War and Navy in the government of President Abelardo Rodriguez, and the Minister of National Defense under Lц?zaro Cц?rdenas (1937).

After retiring from his post in 1939, he became a candidate of the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party and in 1940 won the government-controlled presidential elections. As president, Camacho began to restrict the opponents of reform. He found support for the Roman Catholic Church due to allegations of his strong faith, . expanded network of educational institutions, . built a large number of hospitals, . supported the development of social security legislation and has limited land reform.,

. However, the most significant step the government Camacho was the establishment of new relations with its northern neighbor, Mexico
. After a fairly lengthy discussion about the expropriated U.S. Mexican oil fields, this issue has been settled. During the Second World War, Mexico was supplying the allied troops are needed in agricultural products and raw materials, and in 1942 declared war on Germany, even sending a few planes to defend the Allied bases in the Pacific Ocean.
