Biography Friedrich Ebert und
Friedrich Ebert was born on February 4, 1871 in Heidelberg. In 1905 he became general secretary Germanskoy Social Democratic Party, and in 1913 was replaced by August Bebel, as party chairman. On the day of the revolution, when Emperor Wilhelm II abdicated the throne (November 9, 1918), Prince Max von Baden asked Ebert to take the post of Chancellor.

. Ebert, who still hoped to establish a regency, in fact he was Chancellor for only one day
. November 10, he formed a fully socialist government. Proclaiming itself the Council of People's Deputies, . Government received a mandate from the Council of the workers and soldiers, . who claimed to express the will Germanskoy Republic, . but was chosen rather spontaneously and only Berlin's factories and regiments.,

. Ebert has decided to transfer power in the hands of Germanskogo freely elected Parliament, as soon as possible
. On the ensuing in January 1919 elections Ebert was elected the first president of the republic. When in January 1923, Germany was accused of insufficient supply of coal as reparations under the Versailles agreement, France, strongly wanting to solve the problem of reparations, sent troops in the Ruhr area.

. Ebert, like almost all Germans supported the national resistance and supported the idea of sending a large number of troops, whose purpose was to end the foreign military control of German territory
. Germany, however, only suffered as a result of this ill-considered attacks.

After the expulsion of foreigners from the country's inflation rate had horrific dimensions, and Germany felt the most acute social and political crisis. Adolf Hitler nearly succeeded in conquering power in Bavaria. Chancellor Gustav Stresemann took the crisis under control. However, even long after this right-wing forces in Germany accused Ebert in many problems of his time.

Friedrich Ebert died in his office in Berlin on February 28, 1925.
