ADELYARD of Bath

One of the largest translation from Arabic to Latin. He traveled widely and was even in the countries of Islam. Engaged in research in mathematics, etc.. sciences, was interested in alchemy, astrology, magic. Among his translations: "Elements" of Euclid, astronomical tables of al-Khwarizmi, astrological work of Abu Ma `ball, Thabit ibn Curry and others.

A.B. also belong to the original compositions - a treatise on the astrolabe, "Questiones Naturales", "De eodem et diverso". Perhaps he also owns an astrological treatise, which is stored in the British Museum (author identified as Athelardus). A.B. counted the stars "divine living beings, impact on our lives. In philosophy A.B. tried to reconcile the positions of Plato and Aristotle taught that the general coincides with the identity and everything depends on the interest in knowing - he sees things in a special or general.
