Academician, Vice-President of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Academy of Quality Problems. He worked at Central Research Institute of. Acad. A. N. Krylov (1958 - 1971). Held original investigation of the motion of bodies in the submerged mode of artificial cavitation hydrodynamics hydrofoils (1966 - 1971). From 1971 to 1974. worked as deputy head of the Department of Defense Industry of the Leningrad Regional Committee of the CPSU. Participated in the development and implementation of long-term plan to develop the shipbuilding industry of the Leningrad region. From 1974 to 1990. worked in Moscow in the union government bodies involved in standardization, metrology, testing and quality control. Instructor Mechanical Engineering Department of the CPSU Central Committee (1974 - 1982). Deputy Chairman of the State Standard of the USSR (1982 - 1989). Chief State Inspector of the USSR supervisory standards and measuring instruments (1983 - 1989). He took part in the development and introduction of new methods and forms of work: a comprehensive standardization of raw material to finished products, integrated systems, quality management, quality program at the level of enterprises, industries, regions. Participated in preparation for the entry of the USSR in the international system of certification of electronic components in a system of quality assessment and certification of products vzaimopostavlyaemoy CMEA countries. He headed the work of organizing a network of state testing centers. Chairman of the Interagency Council on Quality Control (1984 - 1989). Member of the Committee on Lenin and State Prizes of the USSR (1989 - 1991). Deputy Chairperson of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for the high quality of products (1987 - 1989). Deputy chairman of the Association of Exporters of the USSR (1988 - 1991). After returning to St. Petersburg (1992) worked as a chief specialist of the Center for Testing and Certification Test-St.Petersburg. Initiator of training in quality management and certification of products in the St. Petersburg Marine Technical University (1992). He taught at a number of sectoral training institutes, business schools at the Moscow Higher Technical School of. N. E. Bauman and the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. Member of the Leningrad City Council (1971 - 1973). Awarded the Merit in standardization.
