Biography Leo Ivan Ivanovich
1789 - 1859 After serving a short time, after completing the course in the Tsar's Lyceum, in the Guards Horse Artillery, Leo took the title of Judge of the Moscow Court of outbuildings, although the service in the eyes of the then nobility humiliating. This, incidentally, gave rise to Pushkin, who believed Puschina his best friend, telling him in his poem "October 19" (1825): "Do you, sanctify you elect san / him in the eyes of public opinion / He won respect citizens'. Immediately on leaving the Lyceum, Leo joined the first secret society, founded in 1817, and was one of the activities of its members. High Criminal Court in 1826, . recognizing his "guilty of involvement in intent to the approval of regicide choice person, . intended to, . participation in management of society, . in making members and the impact orders and, . Finally, . in, . that the person acted in the rebellion, and aroused the lower ranks ", . - Sentenced to death, . which was replaced by penal servitude, . After 20 years it was housed first in Turinsk (where Leo, on the testimony of local authorities, "nothing more than reading books, not involved), and then in Yalutorovsk (here he is addicted to agriculture). Returned from links in 1856. Left of him "Notes on friendly relations with A.S. Pushkin (in the "Athenaeum", 1859, h. II,? 8) and "Letters from Yalutorovsk" (1845) by Engelhardt, give information about his life there, his comrades, about the Yalutorovsk and its inhabitants, and t. n. (in "Russian Archive", 1879, III etc.). Pushkin wrote in 1826 Pushchin message of extraordinary warmth and he has received in Chita only two years. The last mention of him a great poet in 1827, in the poem "October 19". V. P-in.
