Biography VOLYNSKOE Akim L.
(alias Flekser Haim Leibovich) (1861-1924) Born on April 21 (3 May) 1861 in Zhitomir. Graduated from the Faculty of St. Petersburg University. Most of its articles of a philosophical nature were published in the journal 'Journal of the North' (since 1889). In the 1890's Volinskiy always defended and promoted the idealistic and mystical beliefs, convinced that 'only idealism: it can give an explanation of the art' (Sat.. The struggle for idealism). Considering himself a follower of Kant, he at the same time, the German philosopher criticized for neglecting the mystical experience and tried to find a religious-mystical intentions in his early works. Volinskiy one of the few in Russia supported the PD Yurkevich in its dispute with NG Chernyshevsky. He stood at the origins of religious and philosophical aesthetics of Symbolism. In the late works survived the passion of religious philosophy NF Fedorov. He died in Leningrad Volinskiy July 6, 1926.
