Born in the Forum Julia (sovr. Frц?jus) in Gaul. Halle is devoted to one of the Eclogue (tenth) Virgil. Gall was a supporter of Octavian, the future Emperor Augustus, and as a military leader helped him to defeat Mark Antony and Cleopatra in Egypt (30 BC). During that Gall was appointed the first governor of Egypt (in the position of prefect), directly subordinate to the Augusta. After crushing pockets of resistance, Gall took over the whole of Egypt, has established good relations with Ethiopia, but then fell into disfavor, the reasons which are unclear. Reported to the installation of statues Galla across Egypt and made them the inscriptions on the pyramids describing his acts. Galla going to be judged, and then he committed suicide.
