Claparede Edouard (Claparade Edouard)

Born in Geneva on March 24, 1873. He received a bachelor's degree in 1892 and Doctor of Medicine in 1897 in Geneva. During the year engaged in clinical and experimental work in the Salpetriere hospital in Paris. In 1901 Claparede and Theodore Flyurnua founded the journal 'Psychological archive' ( 'Archives de Psychologie'), whose editor Claparede remained until the end of life. In 1904 he became the leader based Flyurnua psychological laboratory in 1915 inherited from his position as professor. Claparede dealt with problems of experimental psychology (particularly the problems of sleep), clinical neurology, zoopsychology. Subsequently interests Claparede increasingly focused on the problems of mental development of children. Most famous work Claparede, child psychology and experimental pedagogy (Psychologie de l'enfant et pydagogie experimentale, 1905), was translated into ten languages. In 1912 Claparede founded Rousseau Institute for Research in Education. For many years, was secretary of the international psychological congress. Claparede died in Geneva on 29 September 1940.
