(1864-1929) Born August 17, 1864 in Ann Arbor (pc. Michigan). He studied at the University of Michigan, taught at this institution from 1894 until the end of life. Among the major works of Cooley - Human nature and social order (Human Nature and the Social Order, 1902), Social Organization (Social Organization, 1909) and social process (Social Process, 1918)
