Biography Lefschetz Solomin (Lefschetz Solomon)
(1884-1972) Born September 3, 1884 in Moscow. He grew up and was educated in Paris. In 1905 he emigrated to the United States and within 5 years he worked as an engineer. In 1910 he enrolled in graduate school at Clark University, a doctorate. From 1911 to 1924 was engaged in teaching work in Nebraska and Kansas, from 1924 - professor at Princeton University. Also works on algebraic topology, Lefschetz belong to important results in areas such as algebraic geometry, theory multiperiodic functions and the theory of ordinary differential equations. The scientist was awarded bokher the American Mathematical Society, 1924, became a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Lefschetz died in Princeton on Oct. 5, 1972.
