Father of John Stuart Mill. Born April 6, 1773 in Nortuoter Bridge (County, Forfarshir, Scotland). In 1790 he graduated from the University of Edinburgh. He studied theology in 1798 became a preacher, obtaining the permission of the Presbyterian Church. In 1802 he moved to London where he established the 'literary magazine' ( 'Literary Journal'), the editor of which remained until 1807. Mill is the author of what has become known history of British India (History of British India, 3 vol., 1817-1818), which he started to write more in 1806. He served in the East India Company in London.
