Biography Georges Auric (Auric Georges)
(1899-1983)
Born February 15, 1899 in Lodц?ve, studied at the Paris Conservatoire and the 'Scholia kantorum' (Schola cantorum) by Vincent d'Indy, but the latter method seemed Orica boring, and the Conservatoire teaching devoid of imagination
. At the beginning of its activities Auric drew the attention of Sergei Diaghilev, . and as a result of their collaboration appeared tiresome ballet (Les Facheux, . 1924), . fascinating piece, . most of the material for which Auric borrowed from his own music to play by the same name by Moliere,
. Later Dyagilev entreprise put two more ballet Orica - Sailors (Les Matelots, 1925) and Pastoral (Pastorale, 1926).

Auric very soon became popular as a composer who has worked in film, most often, he was invited British companies. The most interesting of his kinopartitura - the film Caesar and Cleopatra (1945), enjoyed success in film and music late at night (Dead of Night, 1945). Among the films the composer, which takes place in the East End of London, highlighted cries and tears (Hue and Cry, 1946) and Banda from Lavender Hill (The Lavender Hill Mob, 1951). Auric also wrote the music for the American film Moulin Rouge (1952), including the waltz, which was, apparently, the most famous of his play. In 1950 Auric created a wonderful ballet Phaedra (Phedre) - here the composer's talent revealed itself with a new, unexpected side.

In concert repertoire includes such works Orica, as the overture in 1938, 1923 and Sonatina Piano Sonata 1932. Auric acted as a literary critic in the newspapers 'Marianne' and 'Paris Soir'.
