Born in Trujillo (province of Extremadura, Spain), presumably in 1471. In 1509 went to America in 1513 participated in the expedition of Vasco Nö?ö?ez de Balboa in the Panama Isthmus. After receiving information about the fantastically wealthy empire in the south, Pizarro in 1524 sailed from the coast of Panama and reached the coastline of South America to about 7 á° N, but the burdens of the road was forced to turn back. In 1526-1527, overcoming great difficulties, Pizarro led a small detachment reached Tumbes and other Inca cities on the coast of the Gulf of Guayaquil. A year later went to Spain, and received a royal patent for the conquest of Peru, in January 1531 went to a new expedition. November 15, 1531 in Cajamarca, a meeting of the conquistadors to the Inca emperor Atahualpa. When the emperor refused to recognize the Christian God and the power of the King of Spain, on the orders of the conquistadors Pizarro killed Atahualpa protection, and he himself was taken prisoner. Despite the fact that the emperor paid a huge ransom in gold and silver, the Spaniards showed him the flimsy charges and was executed on Aug. 29, 1533. With the death of the supreme ruler of a great empire collapsed and quickly fell under the sway of the Spaniards. In November 1533 Pizarro in triumph came in Cusco. In 1535 he founded Lima, where conquest expeditions were sent to the south. Between Pizarro and his companions Diego Almagro factional fighting broke out, ending the execution of Almagro in 1538. In retaliation, the son of Pizarro, Almagro killed in his palace in Lima on June 26, 1541.
