Biography Paul Signac (Signac Paul)
(1863-1935)
Born in Paris on November 1, 1863. At the beginning of his artistic work was influenced by the Impressionists, especially Claude Monet. In 1884 Signac, together with Georges Seurat helped create the 'Salon independent'. Sulfur by Signac became better acquainted with the impressionist techniques of working with color, and Signac divizionizmom carried away - by the expansion of color, who developed Sulfur. In 1886, both artists have participated in the last Impressionist exhibition, was the first time officially unveiled the name of a new direction in art, starting from a Impressionist and experience come in to replace them, - Neo. In his book From Eugц?ne Delacroix to Neo (1899) Signac insists on such a title. Much of his works, written strictly ordered small square brush strokes, reminiscent of a mosaic - a type of French ports and the famous coastal cities such as Venice and Constantinople. From 1912 until the death on Aug. 15, 1935 Signac was president of the Salon of Independent. During this time, he zealously kept their traditions, based on the principles of liberalism and support young talented artists.
