Grafton Elliot Smith (Smit Grafton Elliot)

(1871-1937)
Born August 15, 1871 in Grafton (New South Wales, Australia). He studied medicine at Sydney University and Cambridge (England). Was a board member of St John's College, Cambridge University, and professor of anatomy of the Cairo Medical School, University of Manchester and University College London.
Smith first applied the methods of comparative anatomy in order to study the prehistoric man, was head of anthropological expeditions to the Nile Valley. Together with his brilliant student, such as Raymond Dart, found the remains of Peking and the South African prehistoric man.

Smith died in London on January 1, 1937.
