The novel formed the basis for more than a hundred films, and open them vampire theme remains extremely popular in film and television.
Born in Dublin, his full name - Abraham. In 1864 enrolled at Trinity College Dublin, there is carried away by the theater, was the personal secretary, administrator and a close friend of the famous actor Irving G.. He was interested in the occult. Before writing Dracula, studied the legends and historical references to vampires in the library of the British Museum. Published in 1897 novel - a masterpiece of realistic descriptions of the horrors. Dracula pursues his victims, and for him to hunt the Englishman Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing who discovered the only way to stop Dracula: we must find a coffin in which he rests during the day, and drive a stake into the heart of a vampire. Harker finds a coffin, and Dracula turns to dust. Other books Stoker - The Secret of the Sea (The Mystery of the Sea, 1902) and Famous impostors (Famous Imposters, 1910). Stoker died in London on April 21, 1912.
