Born February 20, 1791 in Vienna. He began to study music at the age of 5 years under the guidance of his father, renowned educator and a highly educated musician. Karl has not yet turned 9 years old when he began speaking publicly. In 1800, Beethoven, heard the boy's game, offered to give him lessons, classes continued intermittently for over 10 years. During this period, Czerny also worked at I. Hummel, and M. Clementi.
Beethoven entrusted Czerny first performance in Vienna of his Third Piano Concerto. Despite such encouraging recognition of his pianistic talent, Czerny soon ceased concert performances, and after 1815 devoted himself entirely to composition pedagogy and.

Czerny was an only child and never married. As a teacher he had no equal. Among the famous virtuosi of the first half of the 19. difficult to find a pianist who has not passed a school Czerny. The greatest of the disciples was Czerny F. Liszt.

The most valuable thing in his musical heritage - teaching composition.
