Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Laureate of State Prizes of the USSR, Honored Scientist, many years chairman of the Commission for Quaternary Research, Geological Institute, USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1918, Mr.. worked as stenographer in the Economic Council of the Western Region in Smolensk. Together with his brother M. Gorki (see) issued here, "the Russian-Belarusian Dictionary. In 1924, Mr.. graduated from the Moscow Agricultural Academy. In 1927-30 he. - Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Agriculture and Forestry.
