Ely, Sextus Aelius Pet Katus, Sextus Aelius Paetus Katus, II in. BC. e., a Roman writer and politician. He was consul in 198 g., censor with 194. Ae. is the author of works Tripertita, which sets out a framework of civil law. It contained, besides the mandatory playback Laws XII tables, also called legis actiones, or language concerning the proceedings, as well as the interpretation of laws in the form of answers that give lawyers. Sometimes it is also called the Ius Aelianum.
