D obrovolsky George Timofeevich - Soviet cosmonaut. Born June 1, 1928 in Odessa, a working class family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1954. When George is 2 years old, his father left the family. Educated mother. Educated. When the Great Patriotic War he was 13 years old. Georgi digging trenches and blew out the lighters, helping to protect native city. When the fall of 1941 Odessa fell, decided to fight the invaders in the ranks of the guerrillas. He obtained a gun, but did not have time to use it. During the raid was captured, beaten and carrying a weapon thrown in jail. Romanian court-martial sentenced him to 25 years hard labor. March 19, 1944, not long before the liberation of the city (Odessa was liberated April 10), with false documents, constructed underground, he managed to escape.

After the war, joined the Air Force Special School Odessa. In the Soviet Army from 1946. Graduated Chuguyivske Military Aviation School in 1950. He served in fighter aircraft, was promoted from private pilot to the deputy squadron commander for political affairs. In January 1963, enlisted in the cosmonaut. In 1964 he graduated from the Air Force Academy. In preparation for space flight Dobrovolsky did not spare his forces, tried to penetrate into the specifics of the astronaut to the smallest detail. Voltage, with complete dedication, he worked all 8 years until the day when the State Commission approved the crew commander of the spacecraft Soyuz-11 Б•  Б•? and manned orbital scientific station Salyut Б•  Б•?.
