Member of the Great Patriotic War from July 1941. Entry into people's militia. He fought at Smolensk and Vyazma, after being wounded and the hospital named in the 120 th Infantry Regiment (The Central Front). Participated in the Battle of Kursk. Distinguished as they crossed the Dnieper on Oct. 15, 1943 near the village Radul (Repkinsky region Chernigov region). Putting a smokescreen to the success of the crossing. As part of an amphibious group crossed over to the right bank of the river, took over the base. Led a group of 17 fighters, which reflected the counterattacks on the right flank of the bridgehead. He was wounded, but remained in service until reinforcements arrived.
