ERINA (Erinna)

Erina; Erinna, with the Dorian island of Telos, mid-IV. BC. e., Greek poet. Died young. In 19 years E. mourned the death of his friend Philemon. In her honor, she wrote a poem in 300 hexameters Distaff, fragments of which we are aware of papyrus, recalling his childhood spent together and work for Crosna. Metric poem E. several Hellenistic, but all the same Doric dialect, painted eolizmami. In the Palatine anthology of epigrams preserved 3 E., two gravestones, in honor of Philemon, and one praising a good portrait of a young girl.
