Biography FILARH (Phylarchos)
Filarh; Phylarchos, from Athens (or Naucratis), III in. BC. e., the Greek historian. Continuing the work of Hieronymus Kardiyskogo and Duris of Samos, in his work history (born) in 28 books, he described the history of the Hellenistic world from a hike in Peloponnese Pyrrhus (272 g. BC. e.) until the death of Cleomenes III (219 g. BC. e.). F. sought primarily to make impact and excite the reader vivid and dramatic story. The value of his works somewhat lower moralistic retreat and general antimakedonskaya trend. Composition F. used in his writings, Plutarch, Pompeius Trogus and Athenaeum.
