Biography Pavel Belyayev
Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR. Born June 26, 1925 in the village Chelishchev Roslyatinskogo region Vologda region. In 1942, after the ten-year went to the factory. In 1943 he voluntarily joined the Soviet Army and was sent to Yeiskoe Military Aviation School, from which he graduated in 1945. Fighter pilot involved in Soviet-Japanese War (August-September 1945), then served in the parts of the Air Forces of the USSR.

Since 1956 he studied at the Air Force Academy (now named after Yuri Gagarin), from which he graduated in 1959. In 1960, he was enrolled in the cosmonaut (1960 Group of the Air Force? 1). Trained to fly on ships such as 'East' and 'Sunrise'. 18-19 March 1965 made a space flight as commander of the ship "Voskhod-2 '. During the flight the co-pilot of the ship Leonov made the first in the world out in the open space. When boarding the ship "Voskhod-2 ', due to variations in the orientation system of the ship on the Sun, Belyayev manually oriented the spacecraft and turned the engine brake. In subsequent years, was trained to fly on ships such as 'Union'. Hero of the Soviet Union. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Star and medals. Hero of Socialist Labor of Bulgaria. Hero of Labor of Vietnam. Hero of the MPR. He was awarded many foreign orders and medals. He was awarded a gold medal Tsiolkovsky Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He was elected an honorary citizen of the city of Kaluga, Perm, Vologda (Russia).

Died Jan. 10, 1970. He was buried in Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow. Name Belyaeva named a crater on the Moon and the minor planet (2030 Belyaev).
