LaSalle was born and grew Hartford (Connecticut). As a child he noticed that classmates who have never been friendly with him, watched with admiration, when he danced. Then Eric and decided that the public's attention - the feeling of which he must know more.
In 1984, after 2 years in unlearning State University, he enrolled in courses theater in New York. During this time he appeared in several productions of Shakespeare and played his first role in a low-budget Italian film, filmed in Florida. This was followed by the first role on TV - a reporter Mike Rivers on the show "Live a Life".
