Biography ASEEV Nikolai
(1889 - 1963)

Born on June 28 (July 10, NS) in the city Lgov Kursk region in the family insurance agent. Childhood years spent in the house of his grandfather, Nicholas Pinsk, a hunter and fisherman, a lover of folk songs and tales and a superb storyteller.

In 1909 he graduated from the Kursk real school, goes to the Commercial Institute in Moscow and at the same time listening to lectures at the Faculty of Philology of Moscow University. In 1911 published his first poems.

Literary life in Moscow seized the young poet, he attends Brusovsky "evening", "dinner" Vyacheslav. Ivanov, met with B. Pasternak, who conquered it all: the looks, and poetry, and music.

Since 1913, when the almanac "Lyrics" there is a selection of poems Aseeva begins his active literary career. After 4 years he has published five collections of original poems: "Night Flute" (1913), "Zor" (1914), Oksana (1916), "Letorey" (1915), "The fourth book of poems" (1916).

The First World War, and Aseeva called up for military service. In Mariupol he is enrolled in a reserve regiment, which soon sent closer to the Austrian front. Ill with pneumonia, complicated by an outbreak of tuberculosis. He found unfit for service and sent home on the mend, after a year he goes comb, and send it back to the regiment, where he remained until February 1917 when he was elected to the Council of Soldiers'.

The February Revolution began, the regiment refused to go to the front.

Aseev with his wife "went to the Far East. This long path through the front line, hungry, rebellious country became his way in great poetry (Essay "October Far"). In Vladivostok, he worked in the newspaper "The peasant and worker" - the organ of the Workers 'and Peasants' Deputies. October Revolution, of which discovered in Vladivostok, has unequivocally.

At the suggestion Lunacharskogo Aseev was summoned to Moscow and in 1922 he arrives. Resumes familiarity with Mayakovsky, who had a great influence on him. The collection of his poems: "The steel Nightingale" (1922), "The Wind" (1923). Since 1923 Aseev participated in the literary group "LEF (Left Front of the Arts), headed by Vladimir Mayakovsky. Until the end of life, Mayakovsky had supported him and helped him publish a book.

In 1920 came the poem "Digression", "Sverdlovskaya storm, the verses of Russian revolutionaries (" Blue Hussars "," Chernyshevski "). In 1928, after a trip abroad, wrote poems about the West ( "The Road", "Rome", "Forum, Capitol, etc.).

Before the war Aseev publishes the poem "Mayakovsky begins" ("... I wrote a poem about it, at least in part to fulfill its duty to him. Without him, I became harder ...", - wrote Aseev).

Many of his war poetry and poems - page poetic chronicle of World War II: "Radiosvodki" (1942), "The flight of bullets," "In the last hour" (1944), "The Flame of Victory", etc.. In 1961 the book "Why and who needs poetry" (1961) Aseev sums up his work and his life. In 1963 the poet dies.

ASEEV Nikolai Nikolaevich (9.7.1889, Lgov Kursk province - 16.7.1963, Moscow), poet laureate of the Stalin Prize (1941). The son of an insurance agent. He was educated in the family's grandfather - the hunter. Educated at the Moscow Commercial Institute (1912), as well as the philological faculty of Moscow and Kharkov Universities.
