Green (real name - Grinevsky) Alex Stepanovich (1880 - 1932), writer.
Born on August 11 (23 NS) in g. Sloboda Vyatka province in the family servant, a Pole, the exiled 16-year old youth to Siberia for taking part in the Polish uprising of 1863. Mother, a Russian woman, died when Greene was 13 years old.
In 1896, graduating four years of Vyatka city school, went to Odessa. From childhood he loved books of navigators, travel, and therefore hoped to realize his dream - to go to sea on any ship as a sailor. But above all he had to wander in search of work. Several times the "lucky": take a sailor on the route Odessa - Batumi - Odessa. After the return realized that this "career" was not for him. Tried many trades: There was a fisherman, laborer, lumberjack and gold miners in the Urals, a soldier. While serving in the reserve infantry battalion joined the Socialist Revolutionaries, by which deserted from military service.
In 1903 in Sevastopol, was first arrested for his advocacy work among the sailors. In an attempt to escape on a strict regime has spent nearly two years (released under the amnesty). Many stories were written by Green, before he found "his" hero. Began to create a romantic novel, the events which developed in the artificial, often exotic circumstances. The first such novel, he thought "The Island of Reno" (1909). A series of similar stories: "The colony Lanfier" (1910), "Zurbagansky arrows" (1913), "Captain Duke" (1915) and others.
In 1917, after learning of the February Revolution, Greene went to Petrograd, with the hope of rapid changes in the country. His essay "Walking on the revolution is" riddled with this mood, but these stories say about his frustration, irritation ( "Revolt", "The Birth of thunder", "The pendulum of the soul").
In 1919, Green served in the Red Army signalman. In those years published in the journal "Flame" (Editor Lunacharsky).
Green believed that all that is beautiful on earth depends on the will of the strong, pure heart of people; about his work "The Scarlet Sails" (1923), "Running on waves" (1928).
In 1930 was written novel "Nowhere Road" in 1931 - "autobiographical novel". A. Green died in 1932 in Feodosia.
