Biography Jitka Boris Stepanovich
Jitka Boris Stepanovich (1882 - 1938), writer. Born on August 30 (September 11, NS) in Novgorod in the family of a teacher of mathematics. Received an excellent education at home. After graduating from high school went to a natural separation of the Novorossiysk University, graduated in 1906.
In 1911 - -16 studied at St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute of the shipbuilding department. Prior 1924, . when Zhitkov becoming a professional writer, . He changed many professions: ichthyologist, . navigator sailboat, . ironworker, . naval officer and engineer, . captain of a research vessel, . teacher of physics and technical drawing, . In 1924 Zhitkov began to publish. Wrote sea stories (collections of "Evil Sea," 1924; "Naval History", 1925 - 37); fairy tale ( "Elchan-Kaya, 1926), plays (" The Fifth Post, 1927; "Seven lamps", 1929) ; science and art books ( "Light without fire," 1927; "Steamboat", 1935).
Has worked in many children's newspapers and magazines: "Lenin sparks", "New Robinson", "hedgehog", "Siskin", "Young Naturalist" and others. He wrote for the youngest readers: "Pudya", "Snowstorm" and others. Zhitkov done a lot for the development of popular science in children's literature ( "Tales of Technology", "Geography Lesson," "Stories about animals).
Shortly before his death created a children's story-encyclopedia "What I saw" (published posthumously in 1939). Died Oct. 19, 1938 in Moscow.
