Velikanov Mikhail (27.12.1892, Nikolskoye village near Boots - 27.07.1938), military leader, commander of rank 2 (15.6.1937). The son of a peasant. Educated in the school of ensigns (1915). Participant 1-st World War, Lieutenant. Vfevr. 1918 joined the Red Army, the battalion commander. In July 1918 the commander of the 2 nd regiment Simbirsk in December. - Brigade Iron Division. In Feb.-March 1919, commanded the 25 th Infantry Division, in March-April. Ufa group of forces. In the April-June 1919 in command of the forces of defense Orenburg. In Feb.. 1920 commander of the shock Infantry Group 1 First Cavalry. In May 1920 directed the suppression of the uprising in Ganja (Azerbaijan). In 1921, commanded troops who, in violation of international agreements prisoners captured sovereign Georgian and Armenian republics. In 1924 joined the RKP (b). In 1930-33 pom. Commander of the North Caucasian Military District. Since December. 1933 Commander of the Central Asian Military District.
