Prior to 1371, Mr.. Andronicus was considered the heir to the throne. But after he refused to rescue her father from imprisonment by the Venetians, John deprived of his rights to the throne and handed them over to the younger son of Manuel. In 1373, Mr.. Andronikos tried to raise a revolt against his father. For this he was blinded in one eye and imprisoned in the tower Anem.
