Biography FELGIBEL Erich (Fellgiebel)
Felgibel, Erich (Fellgiebel), (1886-1944), Colonel-General Germanic army, the participant in the conspiracy against Hitler. Born October 4, 1886 in Pepelvittse near Breslau. In 1939-44 served as Chief of the Armed Forces with the rank of General-Oberst. Without accepting Nazism Felgibel joined the participants of the July 1944 conspiracy. At the time of the attempt on Hitler was among the members of the military meeting in the Fuehrer's Headquarters at Rastenburg. He was arrested on charges of treason and hanged in Berlin on September 4, 1944.
