Biography Kashchenko Pyotr
Pyotr Kashchenko was born December 28, 1858 (January 9, 1859), in Eyske now Krasnodar Territory, died Feb. 19, 1920 in Moscow.

In 1881 he was expelled for revolutionary activities of the Moscow University and was expelled from Moscow.

In 1885 he graduated from medical faculty of Kazan University.

In 1889-1904 director of the psychiatric hospitals of the Nizhny Novgorod Zemstvo (colony Lyakhov).

Zaveduya in Moscow 1904-06 and 1907-17 in the St. Petersburg Psychiatric Hospital (now the two hospitals are addressed Kashchenko), turned them into exemplary medical institutions of Russia.

In 1905 took part in the revolutionary events in Moscow. Organizer and chairman of Russia's first Central Bureau of Statistics to account for the mentally ill.

Since May 1917 led the neuro-psychiatric section of the medical colleges, in 1918-20 Head of Subdivision for the neuro-psychiatric care Commissariat of the RSFSR.

Developed the basis for the organization of treatment of mental patients in Russia, put forward a number of progressive ideas (the need for outpatient care, the organization of patronage system Nonconstraint, occupational therapy, etc.).
