Biography Michael Bongard Moiseevich
Michael Bongard Moiseevich (1924-71), Russia scholar in the field of cybernetics, physiology and psychology of thinking, one of the founders of the theory of recognition.

In early 1950 he graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University. Studied processes tsvetorazlicheniya in the retina. Considered that with the introduction of cybernetic methods in the physiology of vision may be closer to the mysteries of thought. Since 1958 began to use computers to study the processes of recognition as the basis of mental processes. Under his leadership, formed a new direction in the theory of artificial intelligence - the theory of recognition. In 1959-61 years Bongard and his colleagues created two training programs recognition and classification, "Arithmetic" and "Geometry", widespread. In 1967 he published a book "The problem of recognition". In recent years, worked on the problem of collective behavior of automata. He died in 1971 while rock climbing in the Pamirs.
