Biography Wilhelm Schickard
Schickard (Schickard) Wilhelm (1592-1635), German mathematician and astronomer.
Invented and built the first working model of 6-digit mechanical computing device, which could add and subtract numbers. Description Machine Schickard, unfortunately, was lost during the Thirty Years War. Created as the first mechanical planetarium, showing the position of the Sun, Earth and Moon, according to the Copernican system. I watched the meteors from different points to determine their trajectory.
