Biography Mario Vargas Llosa
Vargas Llosa, Mario (Vargas Llosa, Mö?rio) (p. 1936), the Peruvian novelist, one of the leading innovative writers of modern Latin American literature. Born March 28, 1936 in Arequipa. He studied at the Leoncio Prado Military School, then in the capital's University of San Marcos. In 1958 received a scholarship to the University of Madrid for a long time left for Europe and the U.S.. In 1967, won an international prize named after R. Gallegos, Vargas Llosa said the famous speech of the close relationship with the writer's social life. Subsequently, translating its words into action, running for the presidential elections in Peru in 1990, but was defeated.
Vargas Llosa's first novel "The City and the Dogs" (La ciudad y los perros, 1963) produced in Lima, a scandal that caused a public burning of books. Depicted in the 'true history' military school Leoncio Prado wild manners denounced the entire Peruvian militarism. In the novel "The Green House" (La casa verde, 1968) the central themes of violence and alienation develop simultaneously in five overlapping plots. The novel "Conversation in the Cathedral" (Conversaciö¨n en La Catedral, 1969) reveals the corruption of Peruvian society during the dictatorship of M. Odrii (1948-1956). In the novel "Captain Pantaleon and Rota good offices" (Pantaleö¨n y las visitadoras, 1973) to the farcical-satirical manner shown martinet desire to regulate everything, even the sex lives of subordinates. In the detective story "Who Killed Palomino Molero?" (Quien matö¨ a Palomino Molero, 1986) history of the murder of a young singer becomes a pretext for investigating fleeting boundaries of truth and justice. Vargas Llosa has also published a novel "Aunt Julia and the scribbler" (La tö´a Julia y el escribidor, . 1977), . War doomsday "(La guerra del fin del mundo, . 1981), .
