Du Maurier (du Maurier), GEORGE LOUIS PALMELLA BYUSSON (Du Maurier, George Louis Palmella Busson) (1834-1896), English graphic artist, cartoonist and writer. Born March 6, 1834 in Paris. Began as a chemist, but then a year he studied painting in Paris and earned his living first as a book illustrator, and since 1864 - a cartoonist in the 'Panchen'. Fearing that the impending blindness will not allow him to work, began to write novels, accompanying them with illustrations.

"Peter Ibbetson" (Peter Ibbetson), was published in 1891. It is alleged memoirs, written in prison, the protagonist. Memoirs reveal the bizarre process of 'waking dream', thus sentenced to life imprisonment Ibbetson for many years, enjoying the company of beautiful Duchess Tower. Mutual dreams Ibbetsona and the Duchess, not only revive their childhood, but also reduce them to the ancestors. The novel "Trilby" (Trilby), published in 1894, paints a picture of bohemian life in Paris in 1850-ies. Three Englishmen fall in love with Trilby, a charming The Model-Irish. Girl meets one of them reciprocate, but leaves him feeling unworthy. In desperation, she enters into the power of the musician Svengali, and he, acting hypnosis makes it a great singer. When Svengali dies, Trilby loses his gift. Du Maurier died in London on 6 October 1896.
