Rudolph Kerer Richardovitch

Kerer, RUDOLPH Richardovitch (p. 1923), Russian pianist. Born in Tbilisi July 10, 1923 in the family tool and master piano tuner. Studied in a group of gifted children in Tbilisi Conservatory, then in 1938-1941 at the Conservatory in the class AI Tulashvili. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War was with his family resettled in Central Asia (this fate befell those German families who were not persecuted). Forced to stop music lessons, Kerer entered Chimkent Pedagogical Institute of Physics and Mathematics, after which (1952) taught mathematics. In 1954 he returned to musical studies and enrolled at the 3rd course of the Tashkent Conservatory in the class Z. Sh Tamara. At the end of the Conservatory (1957) began teaching in the same. Game Kerer characteristic of rare originality, his interpretation (he prefers the larger forms) are distinguished personality, rigorous logic and monumentality. Kerer - one of the best performers of Beethoven's music, his vast repertoire also includes works by F. Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich and others. Since 1961 Kerer began teaching at the Moscow Conservatory (in 1979 became a professor), his disciples were, in particular, I. Plotnikov, A.Moreyra Lima.

Kerer starred in the movie "Appassionata", where, playing the role of I. Dobrowen, performed Beethoven's sonata. In 1983 he was awarded the title People's Artist of the RSFSR.

In the early 1990's Kerer moved to Germany in Hamburg, now lives and teaches in Vienna (Austria).
