Edward Cochran was born in Albert Ley (pc. Minnesota) October 3, 1938. In 1953, Cochran's family moved to California, where he began his musical career: Eddie, along with a couple of friends playing at parties in local clubs. When the trio left, only two, he asked his partner to take the nickname Hank Cochran, and they continued to perform under the name 'Cochran Brothers'. Having broken with the 'brother', Eddie recorded the disc "Skinny Jim" (Skinny Jim).

Entry heard composer Jerry Keyphart, who liked the style of the musician, and he offered to write one of his works. So Cochran released his first commercial single, "I sit on the balcony" (Sittin 'in a Balcony, 1956). At the same time began and Cochran career in Hollywood: he first appeared in a cameo in the rock musical "The girl has nothing to do about it" (The Girl Can't Help It, . 1956), . and then became the leading man in "The launch of youth" (Flaming Youth, . 1957),

Turning point in his career Cochran was 1958, when he, together with Keyphartom wrote the famous "Summer Blues" (Summertime Blues) - Anthem 'hedonistic rock' n 'roll'. This was followed by another hit - "Let us all together!" (C'mon Everybody). Cochran became acquainted with the stars of rock 'n' roll of the time - Buddy Holly, Ritchie Velensom. Throughout 1959 he toured a lot, mostly in Britain, where he expected an especially warm welcome and where it was called the second Elvis Presley. In 1960, Cochran went to the big tour through Europe, starting in Italy and continued in England, where he waited for the triumph. After the tour Cochran met back in California, but 17 April 1960 on his way to London airport limousine crashed into his lamppost.

Posthumous glory Cochran contributed to the fact that many of his hits into the repertoire of British stars of rock music: Rod Stewart singing his "little man" (Cut Across Shorty), Group 'Hu' - "Summer Blues", a group of 'make efforts kets' - Ginny Ginny Ginny.
