Biography KREMER Gidon
Kremer, Gidon (p. 1947), Russian violinist. Born in Riga, February 27, 1947. Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1969 at the class DF Oistrakh. Winner of the International Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (1967), winner of the Tchaikovsky International Competition (1970). He appears in concerts since 1965, with 1978 living abroad.
Artistic Director in 1981 he founded the Festival of Chamber Music in Lockenhaus (Austria), the founder and conductor of the youth chamber orchestra touring 'Kremerata Baltica' (1996). In the 1997-1998 artistic director of the Yehudi Menuhin Festival in Gstaad (Switzerland).

Kramer - musician intellectual, experimentation warehouse from an early age he gravitated to the execution of contemporary music and working with composers of his era. The first performer of a number of works by S. Gubaidulina, . EV Denisova, . Giya Kancheli, . Arvo Part, . VV Silvestrov, . AG Schnittke and others, he devoted to "Fratres" Arvo Part, . Kramer has always been closely in the actual violin art - hence his attraction to the original program, the alleged complicity in the composing process, for conducting, as well as a literary work.
