Biography MILLER, Henry
Miller, Henry (Miller, Henry) (1891-1980), American writer. Born December 26, 1891 in New York in the family descendants of German settlers. After school, he entered the City University of New York, but a few months later dropped out. He changed many occupations. In 1930-1939 he lived in Paris, was the European editor of the American magazine 'Phoenix'. In 1939 he moved to Greece. The book of travel writing "Marussiysky Colossus" (The Colossus of Maroussi, 1941) - a kind of hymn to the glory of this country. In 1940 he returned to the United States and settled in California. Died in Pacific Peliseyds (pc. CA) June 7, 1980.

Most famous works of Miller - the autobiographical novel "Tropic of Cancer" (Tropic of Cancer, 1934) and "Tropic of Capricorn" (Tropic of Capricorn, 1939), both written and published in France. Already in California, Miller wrote a voluminous trilogy "the blessed crucifix" (The Rosy Crucifixion), consisting of the novels "Seksus" (Sexus, 1949), "plexus" (Plexus, 1953) and "Nexus" (Nexus, 1960), also first published France.
