Yan Abramovich Frenkel was born November 21, 1920.
From 1938 to 1941. studied at the Kiev Conservatory in violin class Ya Magazinera and composition at B. Liatoshynsky.
Since the beginning of the war joined the anti-aircraft school, after which in 1942. took part in the hostilities. He was wounded and after treatment with 1943 g. until the end of the war he served in the Front Theater, playing the piano, violin, accordion.
