Born in the family magistrate in the village sorochinskoe Samara, now g. Sorochinsk Orenburg region. Artist of the opera (lyric baritone), director and teacher. People's Artist of the GSPC (1941). Born in the family magistrate. Since childhood, fond of music, theater, participated in amateur theatricals. After graduating in 1902 Astrakhan real school, went to Lvov Polytechnic Institute, where he studied for two years. During this period, participated in student productions, performed in concerts of arias from operas and Russian folk songs
