WILLIAMS Peter

1902, Moscow - 1947, Moscow. He studied at the School of painting, drawing and sculpture VN Meshkov in Moscow (from 1909). In 1913 his father traveled to Italy and Germany. From 1918 to 1924 he studied at the Higher Art in Svomase-K. Korovin, P. Konchalovsky, IN. Kandinsky. In 1922-23, while still a student at Higher Art, became head of the Museum of Painterly Culture. He was a founding member of the Society Easel (GRL), participated in all four exhibitions Society. In 1928 made a creative assignment in France, Italy, Germany, where he was especially interested in theatrical performances. From 1929 he worked as a theater artist who staged performances in all major theaters in Moscow. In 1941-47 was the chief designer of the Bolshoi Theater.
