Born August 15, 1931 in Tbilisi. In 1957 he graduated from the State Music and Pedagogical Institute Gnesin composition class A. I. Khachaturian. The debut of the composer's place in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, where he heard the songs performed by Zahra Dolukhanova. A total Tariverdiev written over a hundred songs. His opera "Who are you" marked the beginning of the aesthetics of chamber theater Pokrovsky, a comic opera "Count Cagliostro" (1983) nearly twenty years, remains one of the most popular in the repertory. In addition, Tariverdiev wrote music for other theatrical productions, he created the opera "Waiting" (1985), ballet "The Girl and Death" (delivered in 1987), Symphony for Organ "Chernobyl" (1988).
Collaboration Michael Tariverdiev with film began in 1958, when the screens came the film "Youth of Our Fathers". . Mikael Tariverdiev in 1977 received the USSR State Prize for music for the film "Irony of Fate," became the winner of three awards "Nika", was the winner of the International Music Festival in Los Angeles. In 1997 a book was published composer, "I just live".
Mikael Tariverdiev died July 25, 1996 in Moscow.
