Gunter Grass was born in 1927 in Danzig, . in the Polish-German family,

In 1956-1959 years he lived in Paris, dealing simultaneously with all genres of literature, music, sculpture, painting and graphics (this "renaissance" multilateralism talents Grass later told that all his books are illustrated with his own). Grass's first poems appeared in print in 1955, but brought him worldwide fame famous novel The Tin Drum "(1959), which became part of the satirical panorama of Germany in the first half of the twentieth century - the so-called Danzig Trilogy.
Since 60-ies, when Gunter Grass took an active part in the election campaign of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and its leader Willy Brandt, the scope of his many interests was added, and political activities
