Kaidanovsky man was incredible - he could masterfully matter, talk to the bandits' jargon, and could all night to talk to you about literature, about things that are not known, no expert ... His fearlessness was something inexplicable: once, in the fourth year Shchukin, the four of us - he, Galkin, Cachan and I - came back at night through Maryina Grove. Not far from Riga to us landed six of them had knives ... In principle, the four of us we could leg it, but against the knives - I do not know, as if everything came. I'm a man, in fact, free, I would not like someone or humiliate or be humiliated. So I left the theater. How obrazomN What makes an actor when he's not allowed igratN He drinks. And a couple of times I drank so thoroughly that I am quick to get rid of.
As later recalled the actor himself, in those days many people thought that he was a goner: kicked out of the theater, there was no money in the basement served as a place to live. Remembers A. Adabashyan:
"It was a nightmarish room on the first floor, similar to the former lodge. It was below ground level: a tiny kitchen with a slanted ceiling, the ceiling formed the stairway, and in the part where the stairs stuck to the floor, it was something like a closet. He opened it with pleasure, showed - half rotten, carried Pogrebnoy dampness at the bottom was water - and very funny describing housing as an apartment in the spirit of Dostoevsky. And right there was a carriage with a child and a heater ... "(In the first marriage for Kaidanovsky daughter, Daria ..)
