Uvan N. Shestalov - Mansi contemporary literature, one of the brightest representatives of this wonderful people, famous Mansi poet and prose writer, but still more, and mainly - the poet. He was born June 22, 1937 in the village Kamradka Berezovsky District. Father Shestalova was one of the earliest Communist organizer and chairman of the kolkhoz, the grandfather of the same - Shaman. Shaman vein indeed present and clearly felt in his character. Creativity Yuvana Shestalova is rooted in Mansi folklore. Writer - a brilliant expert on rites and customs, legends and folklore of his people. Folk legends, songs, superstitions are imbued his prose and poetry.
Uvan Shestalov first in the history of his people bravely turned to the rich treasures of ancient Mansi tales, legends, songs. Before him, none of the writers did not try to handle, enter them into modern verse. He had to breathe in the ancient legends "living soul", to make sure that in the modern poem they did not look like a frozen ethnographic museum exhibits, because poetry is not a museum but a living life. It was necessary to legends and songs, without losing its ancient, hoary history, sounded modern, helping the knowledge of being, knowledge of moral, philosophical and social problems of our time.
Yuvana Shestalova first book was published in Tyumen in 1958 on the Mansi. It was called "al Makem," which means "the breath of his native land". A year later she became the nucleus of his first collection of "Sing, my star," released in Russian by the publishing house "Soviet writer". One of the poems, which became part of a collection, in 1957 Uvan Shestalov read in their native language on the evening of the Leningrad poets, being an unknown 18-year-old student. Sound side of the poem was so bright that the audience felt as though the storm raged in the hall, he heard a crackling of broken oars and the barking dog in the sinking boat. In short, the translation is not required. Soon some of the Leningrad poets entered into a kind of competition for the best translation of "Thunderstorm", but no one has received the text, appropriate poems read by Shestalovym on-Mansi.
Digest Misne "(" Good Fairy Forest ", 1961) summed up the first phase of a creative way: it - the best poems written before 1960. Uvan Shestalov invested in this image (Misme) deep content. Misme in his understanding - it is not just a good fairy of the forest, helping the hunter and giving him good luck in fishing, or come to the rescue people from disaster. Misme - this Motherland, generously bestows upon those who by their honest labor creates its greatness, strength and beauty. Misme - a simple girl, found in Leningrad, and in the Khanty-Mansiysk, and in the far northern kolkhoz.
In the literature Uvan N. came with his first novel "The Blue Wind kaslaniya" (1964), which many times published in the Soviet Union and was not just translated into foreign languages.
Another tale SW. Shestalova called "When I rocked the sun". Its plot is focused around a biography of the poet. Particular attention is paid to her by her father. My grandfather lost his card in a rich tribesmen. On an errand boy for a merchant to the collective farm chairman - this is the path traversed by the father of S. Shestalova. The story is full of legends, legends, tales, and, as the researchers write, "for all these many cluster skaz, is hidden the legendary author's idea - to convince the reader that life - a tale".
Poetic epics S. Shestalova, his numerous poems and thematically and artistically connected with his prose. All the best of them Shestalov established in 1971, united in a book called "Pagan Poem". Criticism of the book gave the highest ratings.
"The book" Pagan Poem, "- said S. Shestalov in awarding him the State Prize of the RSFSR - consisted of poems written by me in different years. You can say, I wrote her entire adult life. It attempted to portray the man of the North without the exotic embellishment, relying on Mansi folklore, on the wisdom of old legends and superstitions blend of the centuries-old spiritual experience of my own people ".
S. Shestalov lot of writing for children. He was the founder of Children's Literature Mansi. His books are bright, festive, not only in design but in content. This "Potepka" (Moscow, 1963), "Tales of the taiga revels" (Moscow, 1981), "A snowy morning" (Leningrad, 1981) and T. d.
Over the years, in the creation SE. Shestalova amplified publicistic. The desire to intervene in life, in her decision the most important problems in the controversy surrounding the literary process forces the writer to actively advocate in the press. As a result, there were some books: "Step through the decades", "Siberian acceleration", "Big Fish" and others.
If the "Pagan Poem" - primarily mythological, romantic and poetic kaslanie, the "Step through the decades", "Siberian acceleration," "Big Fish" - the author's desire to understand the concrete reality of modern life of the North. Books Shestalova call the reader to live in harmony with nature.
Reading books Shestalova, we become members of shamanic ritual. Every word of it - the magic song. The rhythm of his poems like the sound of tambourines shaman: sometimes amplified, sometimes falling silent, interrupted to again roared. Just as shamans conjure spirits and Shestalov implored his homeland, nature, its people, its culture, traditions, history, but not with the shamanistic talismans, and with the expressive means of literature. A poet, we are aware of its involvement with this particular world - no matter if we arrive to the spirits or they to us on the winged horse of poetry Shestalova ... The fire is burning in us, the roar of diamonds already in our hearts, and we can not escape from the vicious circle outlined by the shaman-poet.
Currently S. Shestalov lives in St. Petersburg in 1991, he publishes a magazine "White Crane". Invocation of the journal, the creator's idea - to bring together all peoples of the Finno-Ugric group, showing the identity of each.
There are diverse estimates of creativity S. Shestalova, however, his works have become fundamental to Mansi literature.
