Born October 24, 1949 in the village of Lama Dudinsky district of Krasnoyarsk Krai. In 1971 he graduated from the State Musical College. Gnesinyh as a clarinetist, in 1976 graduated from the State Music and Pedagogical Institute. Gnesinyh on saxophone, becoming the first graduate saxophonist in the Soviet Union. Winner of the All-Union Competition for Wind Instruments in Minsk in 1979, winner of the International Youth Festival in Havana (Cuba) in 1978. Author of "School of jazz improvisation for the saxophone" (published by "cittern", 1997).
