Born April 3, 1934 in g. Ordzhonikidze, North Ossetia. Father - Dzasokhov Sergei Asabeevich (1908 g. born.). Mother - Dzasokhova Tamara Uruspievna (1914. born.). Sons - Dzasokhov Sergey (1968. born.) Dzasokhov Teimuraz A. (1969. born.).
He graduated from the North-Caucasian Mining and Metallurgical Institute, specializing in mining engineer-geologist. From 1967 to 1986 he served as First Deputy Chairman of the Soviet Committee of Solidarity with Asian and African. From 1987 to 1991 he was Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
