ZHURUHIN Evgeny Petrovich

Born March 15, 1929 in the village Novlyanka, Selivanovski district, Vladimir region into a peasant family. He worked 16 years in the locomotive plant in g. Murom. Studied in Palekh. Ibid worked miniaturist. He graduated from the higher pedagogical department. From 1958 to 1964 student of the Moscow State Art Institute. VISurikova. After working in a studio in g. Sergiev Posad. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1973.

Autobiographical notes

It is well known - the best building - the temple, the best picture - an icon. So no matter what the artist wrote of his belongings except the absolutely necessary breathing today should bear in itself the light of national tradition, ideally - to ascend to the temple and an icon.

Criticism

Prohibited in 1969, torn from the walls, a personal exhibition of the artist in Zagorsk museum - reserve, located in the famous Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra, has left an open wound in the soul of the artist. So on his chest bore life Shostakovich idiotic article, "Confusion instead of music".
But, abandoning the bright grotesque form of their belongings 1960, Zhuruhin succeeded in the seemingly quite honestly - realistic landscapes, portraits and still lifes to sing quiet Russian song. This helped, of course, School of Palekh and learning from the great masters of ancient murals.
Work Zhuruhina not immediately disclosed, but the result of long contemplation, immersion in them, which generally tend a large painting.
